Alpha Reffett 1 of 3 killed in mine shaft
Former Grape Creek Man is Crushed Under Elevator Dropping 2,500 feet
The body of Alpha Reffet, 25, formerly of Grape Creek and for the past three years an employe of the copper mine in Calumet Michigan and who was instantly killed Tuesday afternoon when a mine elevator cable broke and desended upon Alpha and two other work men, arrived here Thursday afternoon. The deceased was born March 11 1906, in Grape Creek, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Reffet and was educated in both the Grape Creek schools and the local schools. Surviving Mr. Reffet are his widow, Margaret (Bertano)(Bertan) and a small son Joseph, of Calumet Michigan, and the following brothers and sisters: Elmer of Westville,Lowell and James of Harrisburg, Charles of Hegelar, John of Parkdale, OR.,Harry of Danville, Walter of U.S Navy, in Hawaii Islands, Mrs. Lily Denhart of Williamsport IN, Mrs. Martha West of Ridgefarm, Mrs. Ivy Wells of Danville, and Mrs. Martha Houston of Westville. Details of the accident in which Reffet met his death were not learned. The body has been taken t the Berhalter funeral home. Arrangements for the funeral have not been made.

Alpha Reffett
The body of Alpha Reffett,25,who was killed in a mine accident arrived in this city Friday and was taken in charge by Berhalter, Saturday afternoon it was taken to the home of Joe Bertan in Grape Creek, former home oft eh deceased. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:00 pm from teh Baptist church there. Interment will follow in Greenwood cemetery.

Alpha Reffet
Last rites for Alpha Reffet, 25 who was killed Tuesday at Calumet, Mich, in a mine accident, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 fomr the Grape Creek Baptist church. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery with Berhalter in charge.
